ARTEFACTS

These are traces of a ritual, shaped together for the purpose of enactment of rituals. Together become installations activated by the performance athanor. These spaces are designed as collective experiences where the usual boundaries between artist, artwork, and audience dissolve. The goal is to through immersion, disrupt ordinary reality and allow for a shared sense of ineffability, transformation and meaning making. Our practice is ultimately about making the unseen dimensions of our experience feel real and present, inviting others to connect with their own inner landscapes.

  • FURNACE1/DARKWOOD (2025)

    1200x200cm (flat) / 6,92m2 (floor space), upcycled root tarp, sand, acrylic paint, wood, wires, digital projection. Part of ARTEFACTS series.

    An empty furnace awaiting fire. Portable, it is rolled out, unfolded, hung up and set alight in places wishing to accomodate it, and the roar that comes when it is activated by ritual. It is transported from place to place like a travelling circus, searching for materia to dissolve and coagulate.
