I’m Mikołaj Stojanowicz (b.1998, PL), a Rotterdam-based transdisciplinary giver of forms whose work explores the boundaries between magic, language, and perception.
My work emerges from concrete and static, where noise reveals hidden patterns in divination. Having grown up navigating repetitive, compartmentalized landscapes, I’ve developed an obsessive eye for the occulted systems that structure our perception of reality.
The practice is ultimately an exorcism of control. While my neurotic self craves control, the work allows for collaboration with the medium, to allow for it to guide me. Through painting, drawing and interactive installations, I construct personal cosmologies that map psychic terrains that reside between human intention and material agency. What begins as systematic mark-making transforms into a dialogue with the unseen.
Paint, code and repurposed electronics become alchemical artefacts, traces of a ritual of transformation, inviting viewers to navigate that unstable boundary where the architectures we inhabit begin to inhabit us in return, revealing the spirits hidden in plain sight.
